A note from the president:

Years ago, working as a corporate recruiter, two breeds of external recruiters would approach me: One was the master of the key word search. If they could boil a job description down to a few key words, they could find me a dozen resumes that contained those words. They would send those to me, hoping that one or more would pan out.

The other extreme was represented by a couple of old school recruiters who didn’t know much at all about technology, but they were good at personally screening candidates. Their business was largely limited to one city, and to candidates in that city who they were able to meet in person, but I almost always picked up the phone when they called, because I knew they weren’t going to waste my time.

As I have continued working in the industry over the years, I have never forgotten those two old school recruiters. Today’s recruiters have to learn to work at a national level, if not globally. Technology certainly plays a part in the success of a good search firm; however, ultimately, the success of any recruiter or search firm is based on building relationships.

My goal, as a recruiter and the owner of eSearch Associates, is to build a global network of one-on-one relationships that can be leveraged to help you become more successful, whether you’re a candidate or an employer. I want to be known as the person who’s interested in your well-being over the long haul, and not just in closing a one-time deal.
